ABSOLUT VODKA launches iPhone application

39048-hi-absolut1It seems most brand names are finding the marketing value in creating an iPhone application. The latest submission is from ABSOLUT VODKA whose new application called Drinkspiration has a number of features including an interactive encyclopedia of drink recipes. Best of all, it’s free.

The application also comes with a social component because once you find a recipe you like you can then recommend it. That recommendation can be based on spirit, taste, weather, time of day, bar vibe, sound volume and real-time drink trends. The application also has GPS capabilities which allows users to share status updates through Facebook and Twitter that includes not only a real-time drink choice, but the user’s location as well.

Another feature of the mobile application is that it gathers information of the international nightlife scene and makes that accessible to users. There is a world section where people can see what drinks are being ordered in real-time according to global location.
